“People are yucky”
Out of the blue today Dot says “people are yucky.”
Dad said “they are?”
Dot replied “yeah you can’t eat humans. They’re yucky.”
Today’s life lesson:
Don’t eat people, they’re yucky.

Brothers
This is what happens when you have boys in the house: Yacko was up eating breakfast this morning rubbing at something on his cheek. Wacko woke up and wondered out to the kitchen as Yacko was scratching at it. Wacko chuckles and says “It’s a boogie.” Wacko climbed up on Yacko’s bed and wiped it on him while he was sleeping. Of course Yacko had to get him back and when Wacko tried to get back again, dad stepped in. He told them they each got eachother once they were even. As the boys walked away you could hear Wacko mumble “he woke up the first time I tried it.”
Never a dull moment in this house.

Sharing life experiences with my kids
Sometimes I have something I love and I can’t wait to share with the kids. Most of the time they are indifferent to what I want to share. This wrecks the whole thing for me. But sometimes, sometimes they love it too. That is one of the most wonderfull experiences a parent can have. Tonight I got to share The Princess Bride with Wacko and Dot. Even with a thousand questions it was great. After it was over Wacko said “that was great.” My thoughts exactly. Wacko laughed at all the funniest parts (well the ones he understood). He even used the funny voice and said “marriage,” and we all laughed again. He was excited and and jumped up when the eel tried to bite Buttercup and again when he realized who the six fingered man was. Towards the end Dot asked if we could get the book so I could read it to her too like the grandpa was reading to the little boy. Dot said her favorite part was the sword fights and Wacko said his favorite part was when the guy said “my name is Indigo Montoya you killed my father prepare to die.” Well I need to go. But I’m going to hold on to this moment because it will be a long time before I get this again. My only hope is that I can share this experience again with Yacko when we watch Stand By Me.

Here is our new Kitty Arya Autumn. She’s adorable! She’s the color of autumn leaves. She’s a good kitty, she hasn’t bitten or scratched at any of us since we got her. She does intimdate our other kitty, Nymeria Dora, even though Arya is smaller and technically came into Nymeria’s territory. They are getting along well now after the first couple days. They found activities they enjoy together such as chasing each other all over the house, especailly right at bedtime or at 6am. I guess that’s preferable to hissing and growling at each other, we get enough of that from Yacko and Wacko. Come to think of it when they aren’t hissing and growling at each other they are chasing each other all over the house. At least the cats don’t leave messes in every room when they play.

Ice and Fire musings - spoiler alert!
Ok so Many people myself included, think that Tyrion could be a Targaryen. I was trolling the forms in Westros.org when I came along a new theroy. Tyrion is actually a Lannister but Jamie and Cersi are Targs. There is a qoute that Tyrion is more like his father thab jamie and that one of the Lannister sons are not Tywin’s. The theroy goes on to be supported with jamie and Cersi having physical Targ. reslembences, Cersi’s madness, the incest…. the list goes on. Just putting it out there. Why I don’t like that new song.
The other day someone asked me to listen to this new song. I kinda rolled my eyes. I mean come on the song is so lame and the singer is a total jerk. I read about him on the cover of all the tabloids this week. What an ass. Besides I just haven’t been listening to country right now anyway. And the other song they had out just got played over and over. It’s so nice to be able to change the radio station and hear a different song. Besides, when the album was released I checked it out and musicreviewsnob.com said that the song blows. They said it was lame. and really why do I want to waste my time if musicreviewsnob.com said it wan’t good.

pwned by the internets
48 hours without internet access. A new router (which needed to be bought anyway). Three calls to yell at hapless support drones at the cable company. Multiple configurations to figure out what the cause of the problem is.
The result? 3-foot stretch of co-ax cable: 1, Dad: 0.
Guh.
update 9/18: it wasn’t as fixed as I’d hoped. Tech guy coming to the house today.
