Week 1 winner

I won my family league game handily.  The family league (me, Yakko, our buddies, and some kids and dads from Yakko’s school) is kind of a crap shoot.  Since there are only 8 teams, we all have the cream of the NFL crop on our rosters, so it’s more about player performances than canny roster moves.  To give you an idea, the highest scoring team in that league this week is “Extra Team,” the team i added in to the draft in order to keep an even number.

My keeper league game was a lot more hairy. I got unexpected TDs from Mike Bell and Kevan Barlow, and my opponent had Carson Palmer on a down week.  Chester Taylor very nearly killed the week for me with a huge Monday night, but Eric Parker eked out just enough total yardage to let me squeak by, 108-103.

Appearances:  It appears Kellen Winslow might actually be as good as he’s supposed to be.  It appears that the Chargers’ strategy is all-Tomlinson-all-the-time. We’ll see how that works over the course of a season.  It appears Chester Taylor is the new Tomlinson, at least against a team like Washington.
